Das US-Unternehmen Megagaxess hatte zuvor SiMI gekauft.
Die Silicium Microelectronic Integration GmbH (SiMI) war eine Auffanggesellschaft, im Eigentum der SMI GmbH und hatte eine Tochtergesellschaft Microelectronic Design&Development GmbH (MD&D).
Die SMI Halbleiterwerke GmbH Frankfurt/Oder waren das Nachfolgeunternehmen des früheren VEB-Halbleiterwerkes Frankfurt/Oder (HFO).
