Vishay hat am 15. Aug. 2008 ein Übernahmeangebot an International Rectifier gemacht, das von International Rectifier jedoch abgelehnt wurde.

International Rectifierhat im April 2007 sein "Power Control Systems Business" an Vishay verkauft. Dies betrifft die Produktlinien: discrete planar MOSFETs, discrete diodes and rectifiers, discrete thyristors, multi-chip modules.

International Rectifier hat 2000 Omnirel übernommen und zunächst als Tochterfirma weitergeführt. Später wurde Omnirel ganz integriert.
International Rectifier hat 2000 Unisem übernommen.

Produkte: Leistungs-MOSFET, IGBT, Thyristor, Dioden, Power_ICs, Dioden, Thyristoren, Gleichrichterbrücken, Dreiphasen/Einphasen-Gleichrichter-Module (auch voll-u.halbgesteuert), PowerIRTrain, Schottky, Lamp Ballast-ICs.
