Clare wurde im Juni 2002 von IXYS übernommen,
und wird seitdem von IXYS als Tochterunternehmen geführt.
Im Juli 1998 übernahm CP Clare die Firma Micronix, ein Hersteller von analogen und mixed-signal ASICs und ASSPs in CMOS, BiCMOS und Bipolar-Techniken.

CP Clare wurde 1937 von Carl P. Clare in Chigago gegründet und stellte Relais her. 1967 wurde CP Clare von General Instruments (GI) übernommen und schließlich 1989 von dem MIT Spin-Off Theta-J wieder aus GI herausgekauft.

Produkte:
optically isolated solid state relays (OptoMOS®), mixed-signal custom ASICs and ASSP integrated circuits (ICs), and high-quality magnetically actuated Dyad reed switches for the telecommunications market.
