Atmel hat 2000 Thomson-CSF Semiconducteurs Spécifiques (TCS) von Thomson-CSF übernommen und diese zunächst unter dem Namen Atmel Grenoble weitergeführt.
Später wurde Atmel-Grenoble jedoch völlig in Atmel integriert.
